"Independent Star" International Internet Film festival

Internet is a free space for expressing ones creative thoughts and opinions. It has been long ago now since spectators are able to watch all of the new movie releases even without leaving their homes.

After the Internet’s nascence we all are able to cooperate in making movies from any part in the world as well. People are concerned with all the same issues of the good, love, family and piece all over the world.

Our festival has been made as on open space for communication between free-thinking and creative people. The task of the festival is to introduce the works of art to all of the free-thinking and interested people.

THE RED CARPET AND OFFICIAL CEREMONIES

You’ll be able to observe the beauty of the Red carpet in two formats. There is also a possibility for everyone to upload their photos on the Internet. The real Red carpet ceremony will take place in Catalonia. The Festival opening and closing official ceremonies will be held in a beautiful Big Tarako Arena Plaza which is located in a historical center of the city. Everyday this kind of opening and closing ceremonies attract lots of both citizens and tourists of the city and the ceremonies are going to be broadcasted live on our partner’s TV channels.

CAMBRILS OPEN-AIR

For long period of time this place has been known in a cinema’s history and has been praised by famous artists as Gaudi, Dali as well. For the period of the Festival the beach itself becomes a huge cinema alfresco with a beautiful sea view.

THE CONCEPT

The program of this international contest comprises films from all over the world, basically international and national internet premiers. Both of high quality and accessible to the as many people as possible films are the main focus of the Festival’s program. The international jury awards winners in several categories. The jury decide on awarding winners in the following categories: the best picture (there’s a present for the director), the best directing (a present for the director), the best acting (a present for the actor\actress), the best documentary feature (a present for the director), the best short film (a present for the director), the best video (a present for the performer), the beat TV Program (a present for the author), the best news story (a present for the journalist), the best social video (a present for the author). All the non-competitive programs comprise retrospectives, a collection of the latest films from different countries, exclusive premiers and festival hits. The Festival’s section program includes the newest English, Spanish and Russian speaking films. The international jury awards winners in the following categories: the best picture (there’s a present for the director), the best directing (a present for the director), the best acting (a present for the actor\actress), the best documentary feature (a present for the director), the best short film (a present for the director), the best video (a present for the performer), the best TV Program (a present for the author), the best news story (a present for the journalist), the best social video (a present for the author).

THE PROFESSIONAL SECTION

The main and the most important mission of the festival is promoting and supporting the development of the professional film making community. Within the professional section there’s also a Pitching (a contest for the best film project), presentations of the films on the Help in producing phase being held and there also are going to be conducted some panel discussions and “round tables” dedicated to important issues of this sphere.
Educational programs. There is going to be an Internet film school functioning during the 3 days of the Festival. The number of available seats is not limited. Here also will be accreditation services, ticket and guests service and a press-center. Within the large festival area with wide range of cafes and restaurants, which is located nearby the Big Tarako Arena Plaza guests of the Festival may get together for the informal talk. The second area of the Festival is situated in the Cambrils territory.

THE NUMBERS AND FACTS

The dates of the Festival: from 1 till 12 of October there is going to be Internet activity.
From 6 till 9 of October a Professional section will take place.
From 10 till 12 of October there will be final of the Festival held in Spain, Catalonia, Barcelona, Tarragona and Cambrils.
Attendance. 10 сountries takin part in the Festival. The audience of the opening and closing ceremonies broadcasted on TV was 3,5 ml people.
The prize fund consists of sponsors prizes.
The deadline for sending Your film is September 20th.
The deadline for the guests and press accreditation is September 25th.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Independent Star International Internet Film Festival was created with a purpose of supporting and promoting the art of the cinematography and a film industry both in a free area and coproducing.

The first international Internet film festival will be held on the Internet during the time from 1 till 13 of October 2014 and the final will take place from 10 till 12 of October 2014 in Spain, Catalonia, Barcelona, Tarragona and Cambrils.
The program of the Festival consists of several sections: the contest program, the non competitive program, professional section, the film market and webinar and film school. Annually the statuette “Platinum Independent Star” for the special contribution in free cinematography is handed in accordance with the decision of the board’s of directors of the Festival.
The contest programs:
The international contest program. The international contest program consists of films of good quality which are oriented on the general viewer and had been completed after the 1st of September and the premiers of which hadn’t been conducted in a free access on the Internet before the beginning of the Festival. The applications for the participation in the international feature films contest program are accepted on a free basis from the August 15th till September 25th including. For applying you should file an on-line application posted on official web-site of the Festival and to provide all materials till September 20th 2014. Films which have been applied for the participation in the international contest program may also be invited by the Festival’s board of directors for participation in non competitive programs of Festival. Films made in Slovian, Latin American and English speaking countries which have been chosen for the participation in the international contest program automatically become the participant of the Russian speaking, English speaking and Spanish speaking sections of the contest’s program. The selection of the films is being conducted by the qualifying commission of the international contest program. The Festival’s board of directors approve commission’s personnel and number of its members. The program director is also a member of the commission. The Festival’s board of directors approves the final list of films suggested by the qualifying commission. The information about the final list of films that participate in the international contest program will be posted on Festival’s official web-site before the beginning of the Festival – on 25th of September 2014.

The jury of the international contest program: The jury’s panel comprises leaders of art and culture, film critics, directors, actors, producers and many other representatives of cinematography from all over the world. The Festival’s board of directors approve jury’s personnel and number of its members. The members of jury mustn’t be related to making or distributing the films that participate in the international contest program. The jury decide on awarding winners in the following categories: the best picture (there’s a present for the director), the best directing (a present for the director), the best acting (a present for the actor\actress), the best documentary feature (a present for the director), the best short film (a present for the director), the best video (a present for the performer), the beat TV Program (a present for the author), the best news story (a present for the journalist), the best social video (a present for the author). The jury of the international contest program may hand The special jury’s diploma on any grounding to any film or member of creative team. The owner of the Grand Prix in the nomination The best picture is chosen with a help of audience voting (“Gold independent star” statuette and a present to a film’s director). There may be only one winner in every nomination.

Spanish speaking, English speaking and Russian speaking contest programs. The contest program comprises playing, documentary, animated, feature and short films. The best picture (there’s a present for the director), the best directing (a present for the director), the best documentary feature (a present for the director), the best short film (a present for the director), the best video (a present for the performer), the best TV Program (a present for the author), the best news story (a present for the journalist), the best social video (a present for the author). The best picture – “Independent star” statuette and a present for the director. The best short film –“Independent star” statuette and a present for the director. Every film may get no more than two awards. The participation of the films in the contest program is regulated in compliance with this bylaw and the rules of applying.

Non competitive programs: they comprise the sections of Gala-premier (the exclusive premiers), “The Festival of the festivals” (the winners of the worldwide film festivals), personal and thematic retrospectives, special shows alfresco and others accompanying events approved by the Festival’s board of directors. The Festival’s board of directors reserves the right to implement changes into the non competitive programs. Films which have been applied for the participation in the international contest program may also be invited by the Festival’s board of directors for participation in non competitive programs of Festival.

The professional section: The professional section is a 3-days program of presentations, panel discussions, pitching and “round tables” devoted to creation of the communicative platform for both international and national professionals in film industry, to promotion of the free film making and distribution and to supporting the development of coproducing with participation of Russian speaking, English speaking and Spanish speaking countries. The professional section will be held during the time from 6 till 9 of October 2014. The help in producing means providing by producers and directors the material of the featured film which has been already shooted and planned for presentation in cinemas in 2014-2015. The Festival’s board of directors chooses 10 projects that are still on the stage of shooting or editing. Applications for participation in Help in producing program are admitted on a free basis from August 25th till September 20th including. For applying you should file an on-line application posted on a Festival’s official web-site in compliance with the rules of applying and to provide all materials till September 20th 2014. Information about the final list of films which participate in Help in producing program will be posted on an official web-site on September 25th.

Pitching is a contest of featured films in coproducing. The Festival’s board of directors choose 10 projects which are still on “pre-production” stage and production of which has been planned in coproducing. The admitting of applications is held on a free basis from August 20th till September 20th 2014. For applying you should file an on-line application posted on a Festival’s official web-site in compliance with the rules of applying. Information about the final list of films which participate in Pitching program will be posted on an official web-site on September 25th. The jury of the Pitching program consists of leading experts on an international level – producers, representatives of the film funds and other successful companies of the film industry. The Festival’s board of directors approve jury’s personnel and number of its members. The members of Pitching jury mustn’t be related to making or distributing the projects of participants of the Pitching program. The Pitching jury chooses the winner in “The Best project in coproducing” category (Certificate for the help in production from sponsor). The Pitching jury may hand The Special jury’s diploma on any grounding to any film project. There are specialized educational projects for professionals in film industry, panel discussions, “round tables” and master-classes being held within the non competitive events in professional section. The participation in the Festival’s professional section is regulated under this bylaw and the rules of applying.
